Present: Bobby Mongeon, Val Long, Cheryl Arvanitis, Nancy Claris
I. Call to order
A. Secretary's Report
The minutes from 1/8/07 were accepted.
B. Treasurer's Report
The Treasurer’s report was discussed.
C. Correspondence
None
II. Old Business
A. Use of old Library
The Trustees decided to allow the Epsom Historical Association to use the Library as an historical center. Val will email Mary Frambach about this decision so that she can communicate this to the Board of Selectmen. We will hold hours at the Library each month, because it is being used as a Library annex.
B. Adoption of Use Policy
The use policy will be re-worded. Bobby will work on that.
C. Water Filtration System
Secondwind would spread the cost over 3-months - the total cost is $3,285. They will consider back loading the payment so that we put a down payment down and pay over a few months. They identified two problems which will be repaired. The company will make adjustments to our air pressure. And the well head has been repaired. Val will contact McBride to let them know we will be going with another company.
III. New Business
A. Landscaping
Val contacted NH Technical Institute Landscaping program to request students develop at landscaping plan. The professor needs our site plan, foot print, pictures, etc. We’ll get materials to NHTI so that the students can work on this project (put two benches into the plan). The next step is to contact the NH Landscape Association to adopt us as a project this fall. Val will look for Hans’ pictures in the notebook.
B. Mailbox Acquisition
We will have a mailbox, which will be on Rte. 4.
C. Lighting near Rte. 4
Done and up. We will work on getting reflectors in the spring.
D. Signage
Need a sign on front of the building and down at the road. Take sign off the old Library and take sign out of the ground (as soon as the ground is thawed). Install both at new Library.
E. Operation in general
Nancy would like to have a maintenance man on call to do some of the general maintenance. The Trustees agreed that we need to have someone to help and Nancy will look for someone.
F. Miscellaneous
Jerrianne (temporary staff) had to leave, but her mother (Maggie Phaneuf) is filling in for her. Nancy has had a request for a nighttime book discussion group and she will facilitate that. Circulation in January is up 70%. The State Library downloadable books starts today. Nancy also mentioned that we should order a screen to be installed in the Community Room. We’ll price it out.
Respectfully submitted,
Valerie Long
Secretary
