Epsom Public Library Board of Trustees Meeting Minutes
June 11, 2007 5 P.M.

Attendees: Cherylann Arvanitis, Treasurer; Nancy Claris, Library Director; Valerie Long, Chair; Bobby Mongeon, Secretary

Secretary's Report: accepted as read

Treasurer’s report: discussion on the line items fuel and electricity - our projections will be off, since figures were based on estimates since this is our first year in this building; note that $6200 is the correct figure requested for fuel.

Correspondence: none

Old Business:

  1. Items from the EPLHC that are not to be left as historic items will first be offered to other town departments. The car catalogues will be offered to other libraries. The Historical Association will be asked if they would like to mow the lawn at 1775 Dover Road. Mr.Rand brought us up to date on the progress of the Association in readying the EPLHC. The Trustees would like to have the building available to the Historical Assn. by July 1, 2007. In a 2-1 vote the Trustees agreed to shelving arrangements

New Business:

  1. The dates for future Trustees’ Meetings, all held at 1606 Dover Road at 5 p.m., are as follows: August 13, September 10 (to be advertised as a donations acceptance hearing), October 15, November 12 (Veteran’s Day - may change), and December 10. The following people will represent the library at selectperson’s meeting: Bobby, June 18; Val, July 16; Nancy, August 20; Cherylann, September 17; Bobby, October 15; Val, November 19; Cherylann, December 17. Volunteers are adding EPL’s policies and by-laws to our computer files.
  2. The moving of the sign is still pending.
  3. Vickie Benner is working on the Summer Programming. She will be visiting ECS for the kickoff on Wednesday, June 13.
  4. Valerie Long submitted an application for $1000 from Cumberland Farms - to be used to benefit Epsom’s youth.
  5. The Trustees’ discussed a possible fundraiser but felt the initial investment is not possible at this time.
  6. Mr. George Reese and Mr. Charles Reese built and installed the new mailbox.
