October 8, 2007
Present: Cherylann Arvanitis, Treasurer; Joni Kitson, BOS Reprsentative; Val Long, Chair; Bobby Mongeon, Secretary; Nancy Claris, Library Director
Secretary’s Report: both August and September 2007 minutes were accepted
Treasurer’s Report: accepted - it was noted that telephone charges will be checked with Verizon since the charge for 2 phone lines seems high
Correspondence: an update concerning the Rachel Reid Estate stated the successor trustee has been appointed by the court
Old Business:
- The N. H. Landscaping Assn. grant needs a timeline. The NHTI instructor may be able to help.
- The Historical Association is continue to work on the Epsom Public Library Historical Center.
- The Air Conditioning still does not seem to respond uniformly despite repairs by the installing company. Frank Lemay of Milestone will be emailed by Val Long in an attempt to get correct wording for the problem in order to communicate our concerns clearly with the repair facility.
- Cherylann continues filling out a survey for a Library Journal issue on new libraries. Nancy and Val offered to help with the detailed information.
New Business:
- Contracts for Library employees will be issued in December.
- Joni Kitson supplied the correct wording for the November public hearing on the acceptance of donations: "The Epsom Public Library Trustees will be holding a public hearing to accept grants and donation at 1606 Dover Road, Epsom, on November 13, 2007 at 6 pm. The monthly Trustees’ meeting will follow the hearing." Joni also reminded us that we need a motion to open and close the hearing and that a motion to accept the funds occurs only after the hearing is closed.
- The Library Trustees Newsletter has an article about $75,000 to be split among 3 libraries and museums. We are awaiting further information.
- We will review EPL policies and those of other libraries at the November 13th meeting.
Respectfully submitted,
Bobby Mongeon, Secretary
