CIVIL WAR HISTORICAL EVENT

On Friday, May 12, at 7 p.m., the library will present local historian and Civil War expert Tim Patterson who will give a broad overview of the War Between the States.  Included will be a review of the 17 infantry, one cavalry, and two artillery units that went to war from New Hampshire.  He will give special focus to the 11th NH infantry and the men of company “E” which was made up largely of Epsom men.

Tim has the ability to bring the events alive to provide a special perspective of our history.  He has promised also to give an account of the Battle of the Crater where the 11th NH infantry lost most of their battle flag but none of their honor.”

Following his presentation, Virginia Drew will give an overview of the treasure of Civil War battle flags on display in our State House.

Join us for this special opportunity to hear about our amazing history.  The event is free and open to the all.  For further information, you may contact the library at 736-9920.
